THE STORY OF WHY

In beginning this story, which was the fifth book I've begun, I discovered a need for a starting point. Why did any of my space farers leave their home planet and even try to colonize the rest of the galaxy?

This is that story. The story of why.

When a civilization deteriorates into an intolerable state (when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism). the populace has to choose from a few solutions.

Grin and bear it. - almost negated by the word intolerable.

Run away - many times in our history a population has left its home and made for the frontier to build a new, better way of life. Problem is, you need a frontier.

Revolution - again no stranger to our history but at some point the intolerable government will be soo much mightier than the oppressed. revolution is akin to suicide.

Thus the need for ever more frontiers.

With this as a basis, I moved on to three logical methods of expansion, expansion out into space.
