TROLLI  Series

The World of Trolli was first conceptualized by Doctor Trolli in a grand effort to create an all-in-one laboratory where he and his team could develop the genetically modified races they felt were necessary to colonize and survive the variety of planet’s environments they had discovered.

Doctors Thungar and Trolli campaigned for and got their project approved for use

in developing colonists for both the Sleeper Project, the favored one of the day,

and the more farfetched project of the Wormhole Gates.  They gathered a group of talented scientists to help build his work space station.  They created the races and the “shops” that the races developed and grew into.  A staffer was developed to help them run and keep track of things. The first race to be developed after that

were Doctor Thungar’s dwarves. They were designed for the mining needs in the asteroids. The potential nearby planets to be terraformed were a lightly gravetied large planet filled with wild animals, a nearly entirely water planet, a planet

with heavy gravity and little meat, and a dark hostile environment planet. Thus the design of the Doctor Tungar’s giants, Doctor Malloy’s merfolk, the pixies, and orcs.

The planetoid was constructed in one of the Solar System Larange spots just past Mars, but before the asteroid belt. The construction was completed and the planetoid, now officially called Trolli, was put into motion with a shielded nuclear fusion engine at its hollow core. The rotation was achieved by shielding the radiation molecules with a revolving half globe. The nuclear sore was balanced in mid-air by the reaction and the world was constructed around it, totally enveloping the engine. There were 200 feet of framework completed before the addition of the soil and water. The interior was covered with a topography that provided all forms

of terrain.

The water system circulated the waters through a filtration system at the bottom of the Manny Sea. It was then reintroduced to the surface through two spewing wells and flowed back through the hills for use by the inhabitants and eventually back to the seas.

The air initially introduced into the globe was high in carbon dioxide. With the careful selection and distribution of various plant life throughout the inner surface, the plants themselves processed the atmosphere into the mix necessary for animal and humanoid life.

The initial race created through the manipulation of gene was the recordkeeping organizers. The staff of long fingered beings had highly perceptive hearing and sight with a tenacious strength about them. They were of average height, five-ten to six-one, but slight of bulk only weighting in the one twenties to eighties. They were the first race to permanently inhabit the planet as the doctors and technicians came and went on shuttles as they worked their projects on Trolli and lived their lives on Earth.

The staff’s job was to observe and record the development of the other races, animals, and vegetation. They wandered the planet continuously visiting all the various experiment site.

Doctor Tounger’s project involved giant beings who were designed large in order to dominate over wild fauna of strange new worlds. This dominance trait also instilled in the beings, a need to dominate the other races. They are natural herdsmen and possessed very winning ways, the type “A” personality that convinces others to follow their ways.

Doctor Thungar’s project race were small, squat beings.  They were a quiet, very structured and precise race that plods along on schedule. This race was designed to endure the heavy gravity of many worlds discovered with abundant supplies of ore. They want no more than to be left alone to their work. They will make bad trades just to be left alone and are often taken advantage of by the others.

Several technicians remained on-planet for long periods of time, even years. The humans didn’t mix in much so were considered standoffish and were mostly left alone but their shrewdness in their dealings as well as their freedom to move between the tribes inspired jealousy. They danced, made music, sang, and studied the ways of others and things. Not the strongest, not the fastest, and had no special skills, they made the other races curious and instilled the longing for freedom.

The merfolk are simple janitors and plumbers. They are jealous of all the other races and grow vengeful and ever more devious

The years went by and terraforming took the place of the genetic experiment. Trolli was abandoned and set to drift, out of the traffic lanes that were getting busier. No course was set and Trolli left the system to drift alone for decades.

Inside the planet life went on. The races learned to survive without the attending technicians. Their origin descended into folk lore then mystic fantasy. The races still developed true but began to intermix. The founders became legend taking on godhood, the planet went on until the water works began to gum up.

This is where our story begins:

The Pid family, a minor family gourp of Pixies or flits as they’d come to be known as, sets out on a quest to discover the reason for the Tropids wilting. Q was their leader. This expedition and adventure is explored in the book, King Q-Pid.

Allun Dunn is still a boy, traveling with his caravan through the mountains in the center of the Anada regions towards the Melk tribe. The caravan was set upon by the recently escaped flying lizards (dragons) and Allun Dunn was torn up pretty badly. He was left with the Melk tribe Rashee, a healer, in particular who eventually runs away with Allun to become his wife.

Allun’s attack resulted in his blood mixing with the dragon’s that were engineered to contain all the medicine any of the races might need. This caused him to be able to see the strands of power in the air…. Magic. The relationship between the magic and the dragon’s blood is explored in the book,  The Dragon Egg Wars.

Her friend, Thrombie, was later kidnapped by the Pid gang that had found their way through the pipe ways of the merfolk so they could question her about the other races. She was kept as a slave and cook, later to meet Farby when he and his gang were freed from the jails in White bluff. Another in the tribe, Skully was expelled and banished for misbehaving and becomes a dungeon raider that meets up with OOfloof in the second book when they enter the planet. This is the story in Trolli Rediscovered.

The young witch, Manny grows into her own and is at the core of the conflict between the dragons and the other races in Manny’s Story. Farby steps up to resolve this situation.   In the middle of the War of the Races, Manny sends Farby back in time where he meets Mark, an alley kid that is rebelling and hiding from the established government.

Mark’s story is examined in the Sleeper Ships, a dream of life. Farby encourages Mark to join the movement of space exploration and he later becomes a pilot in the sleeper program.

OOfloof brings Cyndi out of the planetoid, Trolli, and they continue on with their adventure in another book called OOfloof.
